Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The apps are published under the BranhamDit brand by Tresor Ilunga, Kyaka II, Kyegegwa district, Uganda ("we", "us").
| App | Package | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Tremi | com.tremi.english | Teaches English to French speakers (French interface). |
| Tremi SW | com.tremi.swahili | Teaches English to Swahili speakers (Swahili interface). |
Contact: tresorilunga12@gmail.com. A separate app, Tremi Admin, is a private back-office tool for the owner and authorised agents and is not a public consumer app; it is not covered by this policy.
2. What the apps handle
| Data | Details |
|---|---|
| Account data | None. The apps have no sign-in and no account. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or password. |
| Learning progress | Your quiz score for each course. It is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. |
| Settings on your device | Study-alarm settings and the app language. Study-alarm notifications and the full-screen alarm are generated on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server. |
| Advertising data | Collected by Google's ad service while ads are shown. See section 3. |
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos or videos, microphone or camera data, SMS, call logs or health data. The apps take no payments. We do not run our own analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not sell your data.
3. Advertising
The apps are free and are supported by ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC and, in the EEA/UK, Google Ireland Limited). You will see:
- a banner ad while you study a lesson, a practice screen, a story, a dialogue or a quiz;
- a full-screen ad before a quiz starts;
- a short "rewarded" ad that you choose to watch to open a lesson (you are told first; if you decline, the lesson does not open);
- native ads, labelled "Ad", between the lessons in the course list.
To show, measure and protect these ads, Google's ad software running in the app collects data such as: your advertising ID, your IP address (and an approximate location derived from it), device and software information (model, Android version, language, screen size, network type), the app and version, how you interact with ads (views, clicks), and diagnostic and crash information. Google may share this with its advertising partners (advertisers and ad networks that bid for ad space). We do not receive this personal data; we only receive aggregated reports about ad performance and earnings.
Ads may be personalised (based on your advertising ID and past activity) or non-personalised (based on context such as the app and your general area). The ad software is configured so that ads are not treated as child-directed, and ad content is limited to the "Teen" maximum content rating.
Your choices
- Consent form. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a Google consent form on first launch asking whether ads may use your data. You can change your answer at any time in the app: Settings (gear icon) > "Confidentialité des publicités" (Tremi) or "Faragha ya matangazo" (Tremi SW), shown only where required.
- Android settings. On your phone, open Settings > Google > Ads (or Privacy > Ads) to opt out of ad personalisation, reset your advertising ID or delete it. Apps then receive a blank ID.
- Google's own controls. adssettings.google.com. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's advertising policies: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
4. Why we use data
- To show ads that pay for the apps (advertising data, handled by Google).
- To save your quiz scores on your device and unlock the next course.
- To run your study alarm on your device (alarm settings stored locally).
- To respond to your requests.
5. Legal bases
- Consent: use of your data for advertising where the law requires it (EEA, UK, Switzerland), given in the Google consent form; and notifications and exact alarms, which you grant through Android permissions. You can withdraw consent at any time as described above.
- Legitimate interests: showing ads that fund a free service, and ad security and fraud prevention, in regions where consent is not required.
6. Who receives data
- Google (AdMob) and the advertising partners it works with, as described in section 3. Google acts under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Nobody else. We have no server that receives your name, e-mail or progress.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data when required by law.
7. International transfers
Google and its partners may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required by law, they rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
8. How long data is kept
- Quiz scores and alarm settings on your device: until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Advertising data held by Google: according to Google's retention practices, see policies.google.com/technologies/retention.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy. We hold no personal data that identifies you, so for advertising data please use Google's controls above. For any other request, write to tresorilunga12@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
11. Deleting your data
There is no account to delete. To remove everything stored by the apps on your phone (quiz scores, alarm settings), uninstall the app or open Android Settings > Apps > the app > Storage > Clear data. To reset the advertising ID, see "Your choices" in section 3. Web page: https://tremi-d6669.web.app/delete-account-en.
12. Children
The apps are intended for teenagers and adults learning English (13 and over). They are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
13. Android permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Load and show ads and the consent form. |
| com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID | Lets the ad software read the advertising ID (see section 3). |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Study-reminder notification. |
| SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM | Ring the study alarm at the exact time you chose. |
| USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, DISABLE_KEYGUARD, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE (media playback), VIBRATE | Show the ringing alarm screen and play its sound. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Re-schedule your alarm after the device restarts. |
| READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (older Android versions only) | Audio playback features (lesson audio and alarm sound). These permissions do not cause any audio from your device to be sent to us. |
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
